Three Steps to the Most Powerful Punch on the Planet!

By Al Case

I don't care if you study kenpo or Uechi ryu or shotokan or whatever, you're going to need a power packed punch. I don't care if it is Wado ryu or Shorin Ryu or Wing Chun, you're going to need a fist that knocks them down the first time! Even if you're in Aikido or Tai Chi, you're going to need to understand what power is so you can properly manipulate and avoid it.

The funny thing is that a powerful punch is easy to get if you follow a couple of easy instructions. You don't have to pound your delicate hand against a telephone pole. You don't have to lance your delicate fingers into boxes of sand.

As with most things in this world, once you realize behind something, that something is easy to do. Thus, the first thing you need to know in developing a punch that can knock down hippos and rhinos is simple. That one thing you need to analyze and realize is...weight.

This universe is constructed of objects flying through space. When objects collide weight will be the resulting sensation. The more weight involved in the collision, the more drastic an effect you will create.

You hit somebody, and your fist flies through space and collides. Now, if the body your fist is colliding with weighs 200 pounds, then you are going to have to have a two hundred pound fist. Well, you could multiply the 20 pounds of your fist by ten times the velocity, but there is an easier way.

The easiest way is to align your body behind the strike. Your arm may be 20 pounds, but if you can add the weight of your torso and your limbs and even your head to the punch, you can weigh, especially when you times your weight by velocity, 200 pounds. Heck, if you can line up a hundred pounds of body weight behind that strike, and then multiple it by a simple ten, you are going to have a thousand pound sledge hammer of a punch!

First, do lots of push ups, and when your arms get strong and able to absorb the shock, start jumping your push ups into the air. Second, do your form slowly, looking at the pieces of your body, and learn to assemble them into one movement. Three, set up a six foot tall box, pad it, make it weigh 200 pounds, and practice shoving it across the floor with your punch.

The funny things is that this method is so simple that everybody overlooks it. And, to be truthful, nobody really understands the importance of gauging weight in the martial arts. But, whether you do tai chi chuan, pa kua chang, Chinese Kenpo, tae kwon do, or any of the forms of classical karate, you need to understand weight, and you need to implement some form of the training method I have detailed here if you want The Most Powerful Punch in The World! - 30300

The Three Types of Karate Fighters.

By Al Case

The method I am about to tell you is supposed to have been created by the Little Dragon, Bruce Lee, though I don't know whether it was ever included in his Jeet Kune Do teachings. It was supposedly taught by Bruce to Karate fighter Joe Lewis, who became one of the fiercest Karate fighters to ever enter the ring. Joe Lewis is supposed to have relayed the method to various Kenpo schools, where it was used by Ed Parker, and eventually disappeared from view.

This method will work, it will tell you what kind of a fighter you are facing, and help you create a strategy to fight that fighter. However, there is a glaring weakness in the implementation of the method, and, there is a glaring weakness in the fact of the method. Still, it is important to know and be able to use if you are going to develop as a real fighter.

When you face off towards a fellow in freestyle, fake a punch and watch what happens. Before we analyze what happens, consider the basic weakness behind this movement. A fake is a wasted motion, and while you're faking he might not be wasting motions.

If the fighter backs up, he is a runner. This means that you are going to have to track him down. You are going to have to develop a strategy which cuts him off, backs him into a corner, and sets him up for the kill.

If the fighter charges you, then he is aggressive, an attacker. This means you are going to have to slip him or back him down. You are going to have to develop a strategy which stops him, which slips his aggressiveness, and which takes advantage of his tendency to over charge.

If the fighter makes as if he is going to block, then he is not going anywhere. This means he is going to stay where he is and face you, and you are going to have to penetrate him. You are going to have to develop a strategy which interchanges overwhelming with darting, or whatever else it takes to penetrate his shields.

These three things are excellent for establishing a structure within the chaos of combat, and highly usable. However, the glaring weakness of the method became apparent to me the first time somebody tried to use it on me. The fellow faked, and I moved in response, but did not flee or charge, merely duplicated his motion such as it was.

I knew it wasn't real, and I was waiting for the reality, mirroring his actions, and finding a real time solution to whatever he did. Checking a response is not in real time, it is in fake time. Thus, this method falls apart when somebody lets The True Art move him and detail his responses. - 30300

Things You Never Knew About Fighting Clubs

By Vincent Grammar

Usually when someone thinks of the fight clubs, the picture that directly comes to their mind is of well conditioned, strong willed fighters, giving everything they can into the fights even at the price of their own lives. Despite all of the laws and rules, there are actual real fight clubs in hidden locations where participants from all around meet to witness these exhausting competitions.

Well not all fight clubs are of this fearsome type and for some, they could come across fake, overrated men who thinks thrashing one another makes them rough fellows. Well the secret is that many of the suspicious fight clubs are simply teasing ones, more like an entertainment show with a lot of actors.

There are indeed fight clubs formed by teenage boys, wanting to feel being macho and tough like they see in movies. They may form a circle of fight groups, challenging each other in fights that aren't too detrimental and most are just sporty stuff. Being a member of the fight club appears to make these fighters a sense of toughness. Although there are those professional adults with careers and high stature pounding one another competing for real prize money and popularity. Basically there are many of the kind of smaller fight club that's sort of a downgrade version of the true fight clubs.

When we think of fight clubs, most times we simply think about how hard women and men fight and giving everything that they have into the fights which could possibly end in a bloody result. However one secret behind most of the fight clubs isn't truly about toughness and unity. Perhaps the idea that fight club fighters are rough people, willing to do anything actually, draws the guys to unite. Maybe also that they like to hear other people reactions and being awed by it.

Well another excuse why not all fight clubs are that fascinating and noteworthy is because they are employed as a technique to direct and defuse frustrations in their life from work and to take it out on something else. Beating one another to a pulp doesn't sound like a great impulse but yes, many of them use fight clubs to channel their private life disappointment into the fights. As such few will find these fight clubs to be of good use while they are not true fighters. - 30300

Self Defense During A Street Fight

By Vincent Grammar

What do you feel when you see a street fight? Whether your fight is a result of a frequent domestic conflict, or you are attacked by a killer, robber, or even some stranger, your blood will flow faster depending on these circumstances. Typically these kind of conflicts happen due to jealously, and you want to act normal in this case because nobody looks for a fight instantly so they are just trying to rid of the negative energy that was accumulated. The other person may threaten you or make expressive signs but if you back off then nothing else may happen.

Usually the beliefs of hand-to-hand fighting are the same, even so a spar match in a gym differs very much from the one that occurs out in the street. If you feel calm when fighting in a sports gym and are not scared about deadly pain, then you'll at least feel really nervous when you meet your enemy out in the street. Your actions will be quicker most likely and you will do anything for self defense.

Tons of things depend on who starts the fight first commonly. If the other person begins the fight, then you have to counter your enemy's attack or take the lead over her. I advise you to not start any meaningless fight if you are able to avoid it. If you are not able to do that and know you will be attacked inevitably, you should then move promptly or even harshly to end the fight fast.

This is the main distinction with a street fight compared to exhibition in a gym. When you condition in the sports gym, it's not serious at all who will fire the blow first. Both fighters are prepared to attack and defense which is different being in a street fight. Opponents out in the street stand differently and are usually within hitting area of each other quite frequently. In essence, someone who starts his attack first has a big advantage. Their first attack can be most vicious and heavy.

It is fundamental to think that when an enemy who initiates a confrontation with you is because they think they have an advantage in either force, friends accompanying them, or they are equipped with something. Therefore, I strongly urge you to try and avoid any street fight at any cost because there really is no good end result. - 30300

Ninja Weapons - How to Throw a Throwing Star

By Jim Wilkinson

In addition to their famous swords, the Ninjato, Ninja warriors also carried what is known as shurikens, or throwing stars. Many first rate Martial Arts training programs include the use of the throwing star in their training.

Using a throwing star requires practice and in order to practice you need a target to throw at. Common sense, right? Well it should be but it is very important to recognize that throwing stars can be dangerous and safety is of the utmost importance. Never fool around by throwing them at someone. There are very nice Ninja target boards you can buy but you don't have to. A simple piece of plywood with a bullseye drawn on it will suffice. Make sure you place the target in a location that you cannot hurt anyone or break anything if you miss the target.

The other thing you need in order to practice is a throwing star. You will have quite a few different styles to choose from. Consider the number of points or spikes on the star as well as the thickness. A throwing star, also known as a Ninja star, that has more points on it and is thinner is better for practice. You do not have to be concerned that the points are very sharp because a thinner, duller edge will actually stick better.

Don't expect to hit a bullseye from 50 feet on your first throw. Build up the distance from the target as your ninja warrior skills improve. Put the target a distance about 10 or 20 feet from you to start off with. You can increase your distance as you get more accurate with your throws. Remember, safety, safety, safety. Clear your practice area of anything that might break and make sure no one can get hurt.

It will improve your accuracy if you are standing the right way when you release the throwing star. If you will be throwing right handed stand with your feet about shoulder length apart and move your right foot back one step. Do the opposite if throwing left handed. The main principal is to make sure you are balanced and comfortable when you throw.

Next, pick up your throwing star and hold it securely between your thumb and forefinger. Tilt your wrist forward so that the throwing star is now parallel with the ground. Keep your eyes focused on the bullseye of your target. Bring the throwing star toward the right side of your head (if you are throwing with your right hand) and in one smooth motion, shift your weight to your leading foot as you snap your wrist and arm toward your bullseye. You want to release the throwing star when your arm is parallel to the floor. Stretch your throwing arm out completely as if you are quickly pointing towards the bullseye. Do not take your eyes off of the bullseye.

Don't throw the star with the intent of trying to put it through the target. The speed of the star is not the most important thing. It is the amount of spin you are able to put on it. The better your wrist snap when releasing the more spin will be on the star. The more spin you put on the star the more accurate your throw will be.

Don't get discouraged. Just like any other skill it will take a lot of practice. Hey, Ninja warriors were not made overnight! - 30300
